With so many different streaming platforms and cable offerings to navigate, choosing what to watch has never been harder. To make things easier, here are our best tune-in tips for the week ahead.

Industry

Following a group of young bankers who struggle through the high pressures of their stressful jobs, the second season of “Industry” focuses on the grads as they begin to shed their rookie status. Jay Duplass (“The Chair”) joins the cast this season as well, tasked with lighting a fire under the employees.

The 4th Annual Howie Mandel Stand-Up Extravaganza

Recorded at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, this two-hour special features the Canadian funnyman and other comedians including Amanda Seales, Maz Jobrani and Laurie Kilmartin.

WEDNESDAY

Trainwreck: Woodstock ’99

While Woodstock in 1969 promised to promote peace through music, its revival 30 years later was filled with rage, riots and anything but the tranquility it initially set out to achieve. This three-part Netflix documentary looks at the cause of the violence that took place at the ’99 festival and features interviews with many of the performers. These participants include Korn’s Jonathan Davis, Jewel, Fatboy Slim and the late organizer of the festival, Michael Lang. Some of the potential causes of the chaos that the documentary presents include the aggressive music of the headlining bands (including Korn, Limp Bizkit and Rage Against the Machine) and the societal dysfunction of the late ’90s, connecting it to the prevailing frat boy culture of the time. The title of this series was also switched from “Clusterf**k” to “Trainwreck.” Guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Wedding Season

This rom-com is about a pair of friends who attend weddings together to avoid the uncomfortable awkwardness that comes with attending marriage ceremonies alone. As you might expect, this eventually leads to feelings being sparked between Asha (Pallavi Sharda) and Ravi (Suraj Sharma).

FRIDAY

The Sandman

After decades of development, and initial star and producer Joseph Gordon-Levitt leaving the project all together (citing creative differences with New Line, which took over from Warner Bros.), “The Sandman” is finally here. Based on the comic book by Neil Gaiman, the series is the story of Dream (also known as Morpheus), who is one of the seven Endless alongside Destiny, Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium and Destruction. The story follows Dream as he escapes from being held captive for 106 years and depicts his attempts at restoring order to his kingdom. Tom Sturridge plays the lead, but also keep an eye out for Gwendoline Christie (“Game of Thrones”), who takes on the role of Lucifer Morningstar, the ruler of Hell.

Prey

The latest addition to the “Predator” franchise, “Prey” serves as a prequel to the first four films. This new movie follows a fierce female warrior named Naru who quickly learns that the target that she has been hunting is actually a highly evolved alien with a technologically advanced arsenal. Amber Midthunder plays Naru.

Luck

This Apple original tells the story of Sam Greenfield (voiced by Eva Noblezada), the unluckiest person in the world. Sam — part of an all-star cast of celebrity voices that includes Simon Pegg, Whoopi Goldberg and Jane Fonda — eventually makes her way to the Land of Luck where some magical creatures help her to turn things around.

One of the most famous dogs in the world is back along with the rest of the Peanuts gang for the sophomore season of this Snoopy-centric series.

Parallel Mothers

Penélope Cruz and Milena Smit play a pair of pregnant mothers in this movie who cross paths in a hospital as they wait to give birth. The single women have differing attitudes toward the impending new additions to their families. Middle-aged Janis (Cruz) is excited about it while adolescent Ana (Smit) is scared and traumatized. The relationship that is forged between the pair is complicated and changes both of their lives forever.

Nightmare Alley

Nominated for four Academy Awards (including Best Picture), Guillermo del Toro’s psychological thriller is a great pick if you are looking for something to watch this weekend. Bradley Cooper plays a man who just can’t catch a break. To rectify this, his character, Stanton Carlisle, decides to visit a psychic at a travelling carnival and receives advice that seems to turn his fortunes around. The problem is that nothing is ever as easy as it seems.
